At last – a laptop you really can take anywhere!

Check out this beautiful baby – http://solaptop.com/en/ – no more excuses for being out of the office and unable to process your data. Tethered to your mobile, you really could take it anywhere.

Mind you, it’s not not much use in rainy old England. Not only would it almost certainly fail, you’d probably ruin all the circuitry in the process. Perhaps I’d better take a trip to the Med to road-test it!

But it does raise a serious issue: being able to work on projects anywhere, anytime, means you can no longer escape the day to day mill of work – there are no more excuses.

I like this, as I’m driven and enthusiastic. But I also like being able to get away. Does this mean that I’m expected to take my laptop with me next time I’m trekking in the Himalayas? I can just see myself checking a client’s web analytics with a bowl of ‘rancid yak’s milk tea’ in my hand…
