Creativity lives (but not in your agency)!

Digital marketing isn’t all about boring stats and analytics.

Creativity is alive and well, thanks to the creativity of the app industry which is bursting with clever ideas to ensure your product, or ad, reaches your target audience.

Shazam, the music discovery app, partnered recently with Coca Cola to offer a special discount on a 500ml bottle: during the live broadcast, viewers watched a Coke Zero bottle being poured into a glass and were asked then to look on the app, where they saw the glass continuing to be filled, finally revealing a redeemable voucher.

The bagz.it app ensures that your phone automatically displays a sponsor’s ad at a concert, football match or in the high street – ‘from brand to fan’, as they like to say.

5 minutes browsing an appstore will reveal many more weird and wonderful new ways of communicating or plugging your brand. They usually work, after a fashion – it’s just a question of finding the right ones for you.

The only thing holding you back is your agency, who would really rather prefer it if you paid for one of their costly services.

Hmmm…time to start getting creative with your app-search…
